Ah, being a yogi in the business world. It’s hard, am I right?! So many things to think about when the only thing you want to think about is clearing the mind. My major decision recently has been rebranding. I have wanted to use Bee Well for all of my holistic endeavors, but when it came time to start my own studio/yoga following, Bee Well Yoga already existed. So, it was back to the drawing board.
Goldenrod Yoga. There it is. But why? I wanted something that would take me back to my roots, while also feeling expansive, organic, and growing. Goldenrod is the Nebraska state flower. My parents met and fell in love and were married in Nebraska. My brother was born in Nebraska. My husband was born and raised in Nebraska. As much as I fought it when I first moved here, Nebraska is my roots.
Aside from my Nebraska roots, I wanted a reminder that yoga is rooted in thousands of years of tradition. This science is a gift from India and it is so important that we remember and honor that. It is so important that we stay true to the roots of yoga, to the tradition.
Blossoms. We are all blossoming. The only thing constant is change. We grow, we die. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m meditating, I see a golden light around me. I get that vibe from the goldenrod flower too. So there you have it. It’s nothing fancy, but a humble reminder that we are rooted in tradition and grow into our loving potential from divine creation.
